O SATISFY ANY CURIOSITY some of my readers might have, I have listened to Dr. James White’s and TurretinFan’s response on the Dividing Line to this blog article of mine.  TurretinFan’s written response, composed somewhat in the form of an addendum, may be found here.

I thought that both responses were very thorough and very courteous.  For that I am appreciative.  I did, however, note several instances in which they misunderstood (and thus, even if unintentionally, misrepresented) some of my key arguments.

The differences between Catholics and Protestants on the issue of sola scriptura are big, and they are very important, and both Dr. White and TurretinFan addressed themselves to these crucial points of disagreement that tragically continue to keep Christ’s disciples divided.  For that reason, I intend to write a response to both of these gentlemen that is as thorough and seriously-reasoned as their own.

Lord willing, it will be published on Monday, along with Part 3 of the “Men as Trees Walking” series.

St. Paul says, “Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer every one” (Colossians 4:6).  Once again, I thank Dr. White and TurretinFan for upholding that very Christian standard for disagreement.
